Rotator Cuff Repair with Knotless All-Suture Medial Row Anchors and Biceps Autograft Augmentation

چکیده

Incomplete healing and/or functional failure following rotator cuff tear repair remains a challenging problem for both patients and surgeons. Augmentation strategies are growing to increase through biologic mechanical mechanisms improve results after arthroscopic repair. The majority of currently described augmentation techniques use allograft tissue. An alternative, low-cost, autograft option is the long head biceps tendon as free graft. Here, we describe viable double-row with knotless all-suture suture anchors.

Knotless single-row rotator cuff repair: a comparative biomechanical study of 2 knotless suture anchors.

The purpose of this study was to compare the gap formation during cyclic loading, maximum repair strength, and failure mode of single-row full-thickness supraspinatus repairs performed using 2 knotless suture anchors with differing internal suture-retention mechanisms in a human cadaver model. Nine matched pairs of cadaver shoulders were used. Full-thickness tears were induced by detaching the ...

Mechanical properties of all-suture anchors for rotator cuff repair

OBJECTIVES All-suture anchors are increasingly used in rotator cuff repair procedures. Potential benefits include decreased bone damage. However, there is limited published evidence for the relative strength of fixation for all-suture anchors compared with traditional anchors. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of four commercially available all-suture anchors, the 'Y-Knot' (ConMed), Q-FIX (Smith ...

Comparison of the Fixation Strength of PEEK Knotless Suture Anchors for Rotator Cuff Repair

INTRODUCTION Rotator cuff injuries are common, with approximately 400,000 cuff repairs performed each year in the United States alone. Surgical repair of torn cuff tendons involves reattachment of the torn end of the tendon to the original footprint on the proximal humerus, typically using suture anchors. In recent years, suture anchors have evolved into knotless systems, which are designed to ...

Biomechanical comparison of traditional anchors to all-suture anchors in a double-row rotator cuff repair cadaver model.

BACKGROUND To further reduce the invasiveness of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair surgery the all-suture anchor has been developed. The all-suture anchor requires less bone removal and reduces the potential of loose body complications. The all-suture anchor must also have adequate biomechanical strength for the repair to heal. The hypothesis is there is no significant difference in the biomecha...

Pullout strength of suture anchors used in rotator cuff repair.

BACKGROUND Surgical treatment of rotator cuff tears may be complicated by osteoporosis of the proximal part of the humerus. The purpose of this study was to determine whether pullout strength of suture anchors is affected by the location of the anchor placement and by bone mineral density. We hypothesized that higher bone mineral density is associated with higher pullout strength of suture anch...
